Star Book Variations
Instructor: Barb Helander
Duration: 2 days, Saturday-Sunday, August 10-11
Hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Course fee: $210 members/ $270 non-members
Materials fee: $30 payable to the instructor
This two-day workshop will introduce participants to the delightful Star Book – a construction with a tie at the fore-edge which allows the book to be dramatically displayed in an opened state. This structure has a definite “wow” factor!
During this workshop, a number of scale models will be prepared in order for participants to explore variants frequently associated with the Star such as the Carousel and the Stick Book. In addition to the models, participants will complete a Star Book – personalized and/or embellished to their taste.
All the basic materials for making these structures will be supplied; however, for those who wish to create a highly personalized Star Book, then any of the following are recommended or suggested: 12-month wall calendar of your favourite theme, a dozen of your favourite 4×6 photos. (Any printed subject matter will work well as long as it is printed onto heavier paper such as card stock.)
